Project Description
Paint and Handy was tasked with renovating the flooring in a residential property’s toilet. The project involved removing the existing, damaged flooring and replacing it with durable and aesthetically pleasing tessellated vinyl Victorian flooring. This comprehensive renovation aimed to ensure the new flooring was not only visually appealing but also structurally sound and long-lasting.
Our team conducted a thorough inspection of the existing flooring to assess the extent of damage and identify areas that required special attention. The old flooring was carefully removed, including any existing vinyl, tiles, or other materials. This step ensured a clean slate for the subsequent installation processes. Upon removal of the old flooring, it was evident that the wood boards underneath were rotten and uneven. These boards were identified and marked for removal.
The area was measured accurately to cut the new plywood to fit perfectly. The plywood used was of high quality to ensure durability and longevity. The new plywood sheets were installed, secured firmly to create a stable and solid subfloor. This step was crucial to provide a strong base for the vinyl flooring. The new subfloor was meticulously levelled to ensure a smooth and even surface. This involved sanding and using levelling compounds as needed.
Tessellated vinyl Victorian flooring was chosen for its aesthetic appeal and durability. The pattern selected was in keeping with the Victorian style, adding a touch of classic elegance to the toilet. Edges and corners were precisely finished to ensure a clean, professional appearance.
 The vinyl was smoothed out to remove any air bubbles and ensure a perfect bond with the subfloor. Tessellated vinyl was also applied to the skirting, providing a cohesive look and adding protection against moisture and wear. The skirting installation involved careful cutting and fitting to match the floor pattern perfectly.
The toilet flooring renovation was completed successfully, with the new tessellated vinyl Victorian flooring providing a stunning and durable finish. The careful removal of old, damaged materials and the meticulous installation of new plywood ensured a solid foundation.
