Project Description
Paint and Handy completed a truly outstanding work in three-days, transforming the bedroom in South East London, combining decorative wallpaper with bold colour accents and refined finishing, creating a striking yet elegant interior.
The design concept centred around creating contrast between traditional decorative elements and modern colour tones. The upper section of the walls was finished with Amelie Hydrangea Wallpaper, a beautifully detailed floral pattern that adds texture, depth, and visual interest to the room. The wallpaper installation required precise alignment and pattern matching to ensure a seamless finish across the feature walls.
To complement the wallpaper, the lower wall sections and the bay window surround were painted in Hermitage Midnight Teal, a rich and sophisticated colour that creates a strong visual base while framing the window area and architectural features of the room. This darker tone adds warmth and depth while balancing the lighter tones within the wallpaper pattern.
All woodwork, including the shutters, trims, and skirting boards, was finished using Dulux Satin Pure Brilliant White, providing a crisp, durable finish that contrasts beautifully against the darker wall colour. The satin finish also enhances durability for frequently touched surfaces while maintaining a refined appearance.
As part of the finishing touches, existing electrical fittings were upgraded to Knightsbridge Antique Brass sockets and light switches, adding a subtle metallic accent that complements both the wallpaper pattern and the deep teal tones used throughout the room.
Careful preparation and attention to detail were essential throughout the project. Surfaces were thoroughly prepared to ensure smooth finishes, and all paint lines were executed with precision to create clean transitions between wallpaper, painted walls, and woodwork.
The result is a beautifully balanced bedroom that blends classic decorative elements with contemporary colour choices, creating a warm and sophisticated space.
