Project Description
Paint and Handy completed a beautiful fireplace tiling project in Catford, transforming a standard hearth into a stunning feature. The focus of the redesign was the installation of Stonehouse Studio Pinnacle Jet geometric patterned tiles, selected for their monochrome aesthetic and simple symmetry.
The project began with careful preparation of the substrate, including the application of a self-levelling compound to create a smooth, even, and durable base, an essential step for achieving a flawless tiled finish. Once the surface was ready, tile placement was planned meticulously to ensure pattern alignment and perfect balance within the surrounding space.
A brushed brass 12.5 mm straight-edge trim was installed along the perimeter, giving the hearth a refined frame and enhancing the contrast between the tile pattern and the natural timber floor. This small detail elevates the entire installation, adding a warm metallic accent that complements both traditional and contemporary interiors.
Tiles were laid according to the customer’s preferred orientation, ensuring the final look matched their design vision. The installation was finished with black grout, chosen to enhance the geometric pattern and deliver a sharp, professional appearance that stands out beautifully against the matte tile surface.
