Project Description
Paint and Handy was contacted to provide a quote for redecoration works at a flat in Southwark, London. The client wanted to focus on refreshing the second bedroom, which had started to look shabby, with multiple nail holes and visible wear. Their goal was to give the room a clean, updated look.
We worked closely with the client to explore different colour combinations and how each would interact with the apartment’s natural light. While the main bedroom was given a rich green tone with mural wallpaper for a cosy feel, the second bedroom—intended for work use—was styled differently to create a brighter, more focused atmosphere.
The walls were painted in Little Greene’s Bone China, a soft and refined shade that adds gentle warmth and enhances the light in the space. To elevate the room with contrast and character, the woodwork—including skirting and the internal door—was finished in Little Greene’s Grey Stone, offering a striking yet balanced complement to the walls.
Before any painting began, the surfaces were thoroughly prepared. Multiple layers of filler were applied, and each wall was smoothed to perfection—described by the client as “smooth as foolscap paper.” This created a flawless base for the final finish.
The result is a spotless space, with crisp lines and elegant finishes that highlight the skylight and architectural shape of the room. The overall effect is a serene, sophisticated interior that feels fresh and well-thought-out.
